Chosen to Encourage!

Last nite in LC we learnt to that JESUS chose US! What a revelation of His great Love for each one of us!

We ended LC last nite with the launch of Secret Barnabas! We are to encourage each other and to bless each other secretly!

Since we cannot call, we cannot sms, we cannot send email, unless we borrow another person's number, we figured out another way.

We will dedicate this blog for the Secret Barnabas Project.

All you have to do is to leave an Anonymous Comment below, and we'll try and ensure that the Comment reaches yazone@yahoogroups.com!

So your you can secretly send Encouraging Notes to anonymously!

Be a Blessing!

  1. Dear YAZONE

    Last nite during LC's worship, this encouragement was released when David was leading the song Make Me Glad.

    The chorus of the song goes ...
    You are My Shield
    My Strength, My Portion, Deliverer
    My Shelter, Strong Tower
    My Very Present Help in time of need

    The Holy Spirit just reminded me that during difficult times, all we need to do is to turn to God for help.

    And i was further reminded in Genesis, that our GOD is All Powerful. He SPOKE and it came to being. He SPOKE light, and light came forth, He SPOKE and it became!

    So as believers, we can just call on GOD and ask HIM to SPEAK into our situation. Let Him SPEAK and let it come to fruition. Let Him SPEAK into your situation and bring Life, Hope, Security & Providence into your situation!

    Hope u've been blessed! Go Bless Someoneelse!

  3. Hi Flora,

    I better post a comment before this section gets all filled out. :P

    Just want to say that you have been an incredible blessing to me since I've met you. You are not a touch & go person but sincerely want to build friendships that are meaningful and without pretences.

    Over the last year, you may not realise it but you have grown so much in your walk even as you support the ministry and have the time to seek His face more, and you have encouraged and touched so many lives, including my own.

    I just want to encourage you to keep walking in closer to Him even as he has used this season to develop you as His child.

    Trust His heart even if you cannot see His hand because He has a great plan for your life even if you are not able to completely see it yet.

    Take care!

  13. Dear Yen,

    It's really been a privilege to know such a wonderful friend. Though you might not have know it but you have blessed my life and others around.

    Seeing how God has blessed you just shows that He really really loves you a lot. So bear in mind that, though there are times where you felt there's no way or hope, He is there and has always been. IN ANY SITUATION. :)

    2 Corinthians 4:7 says, “But this precious treasure—this light and power that now shine within us—is held in perishable containers, that is, in our weak bodies. So everyone can see that our glorious power is from God and is not our own.”

    PRESS ON! :)

  18. Dear Kah Fai,

    It has been encouraging having you as a friend. You are someone who cares and works with humility.

    Proverbs 22:4 The reward of humility [and] the fear of the LORD Are riches, honor and life.

    Humility is accepting our selves as we really are before God.

    Hope this would be a great week for you!

  19. Dear Adrian,

    Your life has been a true testimony of God's faith and strength. For those who truly know you and what you stand for, they will know of that enormous yet simple faith you have in Christ. Many will also agree that God will raise you up to be a fearless warrior for His kingdom.

    Thank you for sharing at L-cell last week. I just want to encourage you with this verse: "Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God's." 2 Chronicles 20:15.

    In the time of despair, King Jehoshaphat and the people of Judah saw a reason for hope and were not disappointed because God fulfilled His promise.

    May this lift your spirit as you continue to seek Him with all your heart. Truly His grace is more than sufficient for us. He will carry you through and provide for your every need. Trust in His Sovereignty. Rest in the shadow of the Almighty! Amen.

  20. Are we allowed to affirm what another angel has said?

    Adrian. Those two words of Faith and Strength ring very true about u. For Faith is the ability to trust in God for the things you have yet to receive/understand, and Strength in your context i believe is your ability to persevere till you get what your heart is searching for.

    May God grant you the tenacity of Jacob, who wrestled with God till daybreak, who wouldn't let go till the angel blessed him.

    Running with you.

  21. Dear Norman,

    When praying for you today, I believe the Lord wants to bless you thru this verse.

    Psalms 54

    1 Save me, O God, by your name;
    vindicate me by your might.

    2 Hear my prayer, O God; listen to the words of my mouth.

    3 Strangers are attacking me; ruthless men seek my life—men without regard for God.
    Selah

    4 Surely God is my help; the Lord is the one who sustains me.

    5 Let evil recoil on those who slander me;
    in your faithfulness destroy them.

    6 I will sacrifice a freewill offering to you;
    I will praise your name, O LORD, for it is good.

    7 For he has delivered me from all my troubles,
    and my eyes have looked in triumph on my foes.

    Take care

    We did Psalms 139 a couple of weeks ago at TAWG, and i just wanna encourage you with the first six verses from The Message Bible

    Ps 139 : 1-6

    God, investigate my life; get all the facts firsthand. I'm an open book to you; even from a distance, you know what I'm thinking.
    You know when I leave and when I get back;
    I'm never out of your sight.
    You know everything I'm going to say before I start the first sentence.
    I look behind me and you're there, then up ahead and you're there, too— your reassuring presence, coming and going.
    This is too much, too wonderful— I can't take it all in!
    Source : http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=psalms%20139;&version=65;

    Hope & pray that your week will be wonderful, realizing that God is behind you and up ahead, and that His presence with you is just TOO MUCH!!!

    "God created man (YOU)in his own image. In the image of God he created them (YOU).... God saw all that he had made (YOU) and it was very good!" Gen 1:27,31

    "You are fearfully and wonderfully made" Ps 139:14

  40. Dear Yen,

    As I was doing today's devotional, this verse came up : 2 Corinthians 1:8
    We were crushed and overwhelmed beyond our ability to endure, and we thought we would never live through it (v.8). And I thought I share it with you. There are going to be "overwhelming" situations or times that you might need to face but know this that you're not alone in this.

    Let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up (Galatians 6:9).

    I hope that this will fuel you up for today. Continue to rely on God's strength everyday.

  41. Alvina,

    Prayed for you today that the Lord be with you.

    That His favor will extend to the furthest reaches of your life

    and that He will expand your capacity, giving you the ability to handle and achieve things you have never even dreamt of much less thought possible

    History has raised up many great leaders of many different strengths; from the charismatic and loud Winston Churchill to the soft-spoken and persuasive Gandhi. Each at the right time, and each with the right strengths.

    In the same way, I believe that the Lord has also granted you the right strengths and values for a time and place as you have found yourself in. May He grant you the surefooted-ness in your steps and in the firmness in your resolve. That you will shine so brightly for Him in a world which places so much emphasis on temporal values; in your life at home, at work as well as in your ministry.

    Be of good courage and cheer for the Lord is with you! Have a great day ahead and an awesome long weekend =)

  43. Dear Flora,

    Just want to share one of my favourite bible verses from Psalms 23. It always lifts my spirit in times when I am down and I hope that it encourages you too.

    "The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not be in want. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

    Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

    You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.

    Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever."

    Isaiah 40:30-31

    30 Even youths grow tired and weary,
    and young men stumble and fall;

    31 but those who hope in the LORD
    will renew their strength.
    They will soar on wings like eagles;
    they will run and not grow weary,
    they will walk and not be faint.

    The Isaiah 40 verse is quite frequently heard but infrequently applied. So I encourage you to start your week on the strength of our Lord. Mondays may always seem dreary, but be lifted today on EAGLES WINGS. He will give you the STRENGTH to change the current state of things. RUN to your all your meetings! And, WALK home with your head held high for a job well done.

    I hope this has blessed you as much as you have blessed others.

    I was just reading this from a book this morning and found this really comforting passage..

    When we are hurting
    God doesn't stay on high
    He brings His majesty to earth
    on the wings of love
    When we encounter trials and tribulations
    it is God who will help us face whatever is happening in our hearts
    He pours His peace into the moments
    holds our hands and calms our fears
    He walks with us and talks with us along the way
    When we need the ultimate compassion,
    the greatest caring, true concern
    it is God's love that wipes each tear away
    and brings tomorrow's hope

    God isn't far away..
    He's always by your side...

    Commit and present your request before Him..
    May His peace be poured out to you..
    Take comfort and know that He will walk you through every decision you have to make..

  83. Dear All,

    Would like to share this...

    God placed a kid song in my heart today:
    'My God is so big, so strong and so mighty,
    there's nothing my God can not do, for you!'

    Yes, our God is bigger than any of our problems.
    Cast our cares upon the Lord. Surrender all worries and burdens into His mighty hand.
    Believing God to do miracles in our lives today. Nothing is impossible to God.

    Trust and claim for His promises.

    PUSH.
    Cheers!!

  84. Dear Flora,

    Just a bible verse to start off your week from Isaiah 40:31.

    "but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."

    Take care and have a blessed week in His presence.

  85. Dear Norman

    A verse to encourage you
    Prov 37:23-24 (NIV)

    23 If the LORD delights in a man's way,
    he makes his steps firm;
    24 though he stumble, he will not fall,
    for the LORD upholds him with his hand.

    And in The Message translation it says this:

    Stalwart walks in step with God;
    his path blazed by God, he's happy.
    If he stumbles, he's not down for long;
    God has a grip on his hand.

    (Stalwart = strongly and stoutly built; sturdy and robust.)

    So be strong in your walk with God; be happy; and always remember and be encouraged that God has a grip of your hand. :) You're not alone!

    Have a blessed day

  87. I would like to say a big thank you to PJK, PGC, Daniel, Tiff and all my leaders & L-Cell members for all the love, support and prayers for my brother's recovery. I'm so glad to post this praise report that God has done a work of miracle in my brother's life. He has been discharged from the hospital on Sunday. It had not been a pleasant experience yet through this we experienced God's grace and mighty presence. I have not been more blessed in all of my birthdays.

    To my SB, thank you for your faithful encouragement. You are a true blessing to me. I love the beautiful bracelet. I'm praying that God will bless you in return with such abundance.

    To Michelle, you are an awesome friend. When i read the card I realized you saw the 'crazy' part in me that doesn't get revealed too much. This sure says a lot about you being a true, genuine and sensitive friend. Thank you for being that friend to me.

    To mary-ann, thank you for making me feel so special. You have a real sweet touch and a very beautiful spot inside. As i was thinking of you, God was showing how very beautiful you are inside. I have something else to share with you. when we meet next k?

    Praise be to God, who always causes us to triumph in His name. Amen. Praying that you will all have a victorious week. Cheers

    Just a word of encouragement for your week ahead.

    Felt God impressing on me from Isaiah 60:3 for your life, where he will restore and renew you in every way so that you will become a tree of righteousness in His kingdom, the planting of the Lord with deep roots - so that you can be a strong support to others...and to provide shade to those who are weary.

    Take care and continue pressing on for Jesus.

    Good Monday!

    Sorry haven't been in touched lately but I'm sure your days have been good ones.

    Just want to wish you a great start to the week and also to encourage you to continue to rest in the Lord this week...

    Psalm 91:1
    He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.

  96. Dear Yen,

    How's your start of the week? Good? I just wanted to encourage you even with the start of the week if your ever felt inadequate, ot not living up to people's expectations, and the list goes on...remember that we ARE HIS children.

    As I was doing TAWG myself, in Galatians 3:26-28 says:

    "So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, for all of you who are baptized into Christ have clothed yourself with Christ. There are neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, neither male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus."

    Now, isn't that a great reassurance! Continue to seek His ways in everything that you do and He will work miracles in your life and in your family's life too! :)

  99. Dear Flora,

    Here's another one for your week from Colossians 3:23-24.

    "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving."

    Be encouraged that even as you sacrifice and serve, it is ultimately for Jesus and not for man. So do not be weary in doing good and giving your best, for in due time you will receive a full inheritance from the Lord.

    Have a great week ahead.

    I missed Monday by over an hour but here's a word of encouragement for your week from Revelations 12:11: "They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony".

    Remember that Christ has won the victory and that we can stand by His blood and declare our testimony to defeat anything that the enemy throws at us.

    Stand strong and take courage in every situation! =D
